Decorate Your Home Series

I thought it would be fun to start a series where I show you how to decorate your home with flowers, floral prints and seasonal decor.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE to decorate! I look for different new ideas so I can make things for the house myself! I don't know about you but I love looking at something everyday and thinking to myself, "Wow I did that!!"

We are also going to offer some of the tools in our Online Shop to make it easier to make these fun projects at home! Or if you are a little too busy but you love the idea I also offer each project already done so you can get in the mail hang it up or put it out and just enjoy it!!!

SO our first project is some floral wall art.wedding flowers

First step is head over to Lowes or Home Depot and buy yourself 3 1' x 2" boards and one piece of OSB board. Now Lowes will cut the OSB board to the size you want mine are big they are 25 by 25 squares but you can me them whatever size will fit your wall.

When you get home get out your trusty jig saw and cut the 1'x2' boards 2 need to be 25 inches and the other 2 need to be 3 inches less to make the frame. So I had 2 at 25 inches and 2 at 22 inches.

Then set up your 1'x2' board around the OSB and create a frame. Staple the corners ( I did 2 staples just to be sure!)

Then flip it over and put a screw in each corner and and on on each side (just to be safe!)

I picked a solid color for my background because I am going to have a floral curtain in this room. But you could pick a very fun Damaris fabric, something that will pop in your room!

Cut your fabric 2 inches longer then the frame. Pull it snug around the frame and staple the corners down!

Cut your fabric for the flower in 2 inch strips. Do a basting stitch along one side and gather the fabric so it ruffles.

Lay out your circles and then hot glue them down!

For the center of my flower i took a smaller piece of gathered fabric and spun it tightly like a cinnamon roll. I hot glued it together and then down in the center!
